Moses and Intercession

When We Pray our Beneficiaries Win the Day

Moses lifted up his hands in prayer and it made a difference. We need to do the same, interceding for our loved ones.

Intercessions involve spiritual warfare.  Exodus provides a great example as the Israelite army was doing battle with the Amalekites.  Moses interceded with his arms raised and his staff in his hand.  As long as he was praying Joshua, the commander of the Israelite army was victorious.  But when Moses grew tired and could no longer intercede the Amalekites got the best of Israel.

Then Amalek came and fought with Israel at Rephidim. Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some men for us and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.” So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed; and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands grew weary; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; so his hands were steady until the sun set. And Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the sword. Exodus 17:8-13

We can see that our victories in our life depend on prayer.  These victories include good health for some, a good job for another, and healing from trauma for a third.  And yes, they also include winning battles against the world, the flesh, and the devil.  There are too few that take on this important ministry and the outcome of every battle depends on it.

If Aaron and Hur did not help Moses intercede, Joshua and the army of Israel would have lost the day.  This website is about inspiring others to join in intercession.  There are some among us who have been interceding with great benefits for over 40 years.  They will tell you when their prayers slack, their friends and family, and other beneficiaries would lose their battles against the world, the flesh, and the devil.  So, we need to pray, pray, pray.

Takeaways

  1. Prayer makes a difference and by interceding on behalf of friends, enemies, family members, people of our church, local community, state, country, and the world, we are bringing blessings to their lives.
  2. When we don’t pray then there is hell to pay.  Intercessions are the engine of love and without them, our benefactors feel it.
  3.  We need to hold each other up if we are to win the battles against the world, the flesh and the devil.
